Will Synaptic open from the update-notifier when there are updates and you select open with Synaptic?

I tried that - it started Synaptic as is should, but when I exited Synaptic, it immediately started an update check again....

Update-notifier has always done that with whichever DE I'm using.

Hi,

On the dedicated thread at main forum I said I would have liked to have a configuration interface for it, to tell it when and wether I wanted it to start, or not. It seems it's not a priority for now. What I don't like : it starts each time I start a new session. That's a pain. While I was working on remaster, I purely uninstalled it to solve the problem.

My 2 cents.  Roll Eyes

Yep, that's what I did on my desktop as well..... (it's not running PCLXDE, but PCLOS 2007 updated.)

I was talking to parnote last night and he mentioned having PCLXDE on a laptop and installing TuxPaint, which crashed...... has anyone had the same problem?  My grandkids love TuxPaint but I don't want to put it on my laptop (also running PCLXDE) if it is going to crash.....

How strange, I think I put a full Gcompris suite on my remaster, alors with a few stamps packages for Tuxpaint. I'll give it a try.
